Hello, my name is Keith Powell and all our lives both myself and all my family have been heavily involved with animals. A lot of people will recognise my surname from the horse racing industry, as my father, grandparents, great grandparents, uncles and cousins have all been successful jockeys, trainers, officials and judges in their time. Fortunately for me, my first love has always been dogs. I say this because, at my age, most of the people mentioned above had already broken most of the bones in their bodies, all for the love of their chosen animal (and people ask me why I chose dogs over horses!). Nevertheless, my love for dogs is not without its strong foundations either, as my grandparents trained, handled and managed the hunting kennels for the Naas Harriers for many years. As well as hounds, we have owned many different breeds, from Miniature Poodles to German Shepherds.
When myself and my partner Lisa first moved in together several years ago, we bought two dogs. A rottie male named Tyson and a female stafford named Holly. Although they weren't show dogs, they kickstarted our massive interest in both breeds. This eventually led us on to have a small show kennels made up of a team of four to five dogs. Following on from this, last year we opened our new kennels with the help of my aunt and now business partner Stella Powell. Stella is also not without her own credentials, with over 10 years experience as a veterinary nurse and professional dog groomer. We feel very lucky to be able to do what we love for a living.
